Project Spotlight: St. Louis Armory

O6 ENV completed a project for Green Street St. Louis at the former Missouri National Guard Armory located downtown to prepare the building for major renovations. Our crew was responsible for the abatement of lead, asbestos and mold impacted materials in the building in addition to interior demolition.

In the first project phase, O6 ENV asbestos and lead licensed workers abated 117,000 square feet combined of ACM roofing, floor tile, and insulated piping and an additional 45,000 square feet of lead based paint. Our team also conducted the biological cleaning of 80,000 square feet of mold.

The O6 crew worked to remove mold, asbestos and lead from the building.

In the second phase of this project, O6 ENV completed selective demolition of all internal building contents, including drywall, plumbing and windows. Concrete walls and floors were demolished to create room for stairwells, elevator shafts and windows needed for future construction.

Rec Hall partnered with Green Street to establish a permanent residence in St. Louis’s former armory. They plan to convert the building into an entertainment space featuring a full bar, lawn games, sports, and a stage. Rec Hall is expected to open in the summer of 2021. After initial opening, larger projects including a rooftop bar and tennis hall of fame will be underway. Rec Hall hopes to transform the space into an entertainment hub for the surrounding communities. We appreciate the opportunity to work with Green Street to preserve and restore historic St. Louis infrastructure.
