Project Name

Emergency Response for Diesel Spill

Client

AECOM

Location

Bonne Terre, Missouri

A leak in a chemical line utilized for the transfer of diesel fuel from a storage tank to an industrial process was discovered by operations staff at Orica USA, Inc. Red dyed diesel fuel was located in several locations near the suspected leak. O6 ENV was contacted by AECOM, the plant’s Environmental Consultant to respond to the diesel spill.

Upon arrival, O6 ENV immediately identified the location of the source of the leak and installed containment boom to prevent further migration of the diesel fuel. The diesel and water were then pumped into 21,000-gallon frac tanks and approximately 400 tons of soil contaminated by the diesel fuel was loaded into roll off containers for disposal. O6 ENV assisted AECOM with the verification sampling and once it was determined that we had reached the extent of the contamination, the site was restored to its condition that existed prior to the release.
