WESTON contracted O6 ENV to provide project management, field resources, material and equipment to install geosythetic treatment cell with an HDPE leachate colletion systme 17th Street Remediation Project in Murphysboro, IL.
O6 ENV teamed with ERM to remediate and cap a former railroad Right of Way Murphysboro, IL. All remedial activities took place in high density residential district near an active City Museum. O6 ENV had to perform the remediation activities in an active surface water drainage area.
Approximately 2,000 tons of impacted soil was relocated to the specified elevations with a D5 dozer to pre-determined grades to create new drainage swales and allow for the installation of a bentomat liner system.
The liner system was backfilled with 3 feet of impermeable clay provided by a local source. The borrow material was transported by tandem truck, placed with a dozer, and compacted to the specified levels. A parking lot was also installed for the City Museum. A 6” layer of topsoil was spread and the area was hydroseeded to complete final restoration. The project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule.
